Wishcasting Wednesday ~ Sharing

This week, Jamie ask's us "what do you wish to share?"...

The first thing that pops into my mind is my experience with postpartum depression. I received a ton of support from the medical community when I was going through it, but the most helpful was from other women who had come through the other side. I needed to know their survival stories because at times I didn't think I would make it...or didn't want to even try.

So, I wish to share my journey in and out of the darkness of depression and anxiety so that other women and families going through it don't feel so alone and misunderstood. I want to share all the details of the battles and courage, the real facts that sometimes don't get spoken to obliterate any shame and guilt to make way for their healing.

Thank you. As a depression survivor (still sneaks up on me occasionally, too) I hear your words about needing to hear from people who really have survived. I didn't have that then and it was always something that I have struggled with being able to share.

So, so important! How do you wish to do that, write a book? via blogging?
My problem is that I don't feel that I belong here, not to this country I'm living in, I can't stand this and I always envy people from other countries, but reading stories about other women, who lives in beautiful countries and don't feel at home too is great relief for me.
So let's share!

It looks like you've changed up your blog a bit... I love it! I went through a little bit of PPD with my first. It certainly makes you feel alienated. A few months ago when my world started changing in BIG ways, I had my first full blown panic attack. It was very alienating. Thankfully, it all seems to be behind me but I know how much shared experiences can lessen our feelings when we feel alone in all of it. As you wish for yourself today, I wish for you also!

Peace and light,
Jane

I can think of nothing more wonderful to do with a hard experience than to turn it into ease and comfort for another who is experiencing that pain.

As this bright one wishes for herself, so I lovingly and with intention wish for her also.

I too suffered from post-partum depression, especially after my second child. I have since learned that there are natural remedies and healthy coping skills that I wish I would have know then. You might want to have a peek at my post about my own panic attack:

Hi Wild Roaming One,

Love your blog title. Unique! Yes, we need to help each other go through what we've gone through. I'm glad you will share this journey with other women. So many times we think we are the only one that something is happening too. Then we find out we are just one of thousands!

Thank you for sharing. I was never very good at opening up my emotions which contributed to my depression. We have to help each other through these things any way we can. By sharing experience with others we teach that they are not alone. Thank you.
